Koffylaagte translates as “Coffee Hollow” and owes its name to its colorful history as the resting place of the early settler traders. A unique venue for a true South African experience. Tastefully decorated 12 double room include Farm House units and a Tented Bush Camp site for the families, as well as luxury en-suite Lodge rooms and exquisite Safari Tents with private viewing decks, for the couples seeking the absolute piece and tranquility.
The general guest area consists of a bar, indoor braai (barbeque) and a ten-seater dining table, as well as a games room with a pool table and cable TV.

Take the R75 to Graaff-Reinet, bypassing Uitenhage. You will travel in the direction towards Jansenville/Graaff-Reinet. Approx 95 km from Port Elizabeth, you will turn right at the “Sapkamma/Paardepoort” turn-off. 5km later, please turn left at the “T” junction. Stay on the main gravel road for another 20 km – Koffylaagte Game Lodge will be situated to your left.

Koffylaagte Game Lodge & Tented Camp lies at the foot of the Karoo Mountain Belt, located between the World Heritage site of Baviaanskloof and the second largest national park in South Africa, the “Addo Elephant Park”. Koffylaagte is home to a wealth of wild life, including 22 species of Southern African antelope, zebra, white rhinoceros, buffalo, giraffe, as well as a rich variety of other land mammals such as monkeys, baboons, warthogs, bush pig, black-backed jackals, bat-eared fox, ant bear, porcupine, civet cat, meerkat, mongoose etc – the list is endless. The area also boasts a wide variety of bird species, water fowl, game birds and birds of prey such as the majestic Marshall Eagle have been spotted in the reserve.
Koffylaagte Game Lodge attractions include day and night game drives, guided walks, quad bike and horse back safari rides, and a level four 4x4 trail to the mountain top view point.
